This is a journey of indulgence! A chance to combine your passion for nature and the outdoors with your love of fine wines and great food!   We will explore Chile’s capital, Santiago, and the nearby Maipu Valley wineries before we head across the Andes and to Mendoza, Argentina’s premier wine region.  Your tour concludes in  Buenos Aires where you will experience the passion of tango.

Day 1
Buenos Aires

On arrival into Buenos Aires you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Buenos Aires, Argentina’s elegant, historic and cosmopolitan capital, is known as the “Paris of the South” due to its European atmosphere with glamorous avenues lined with fashionable shops and Parisian-style restaurants and cafes.

Today you have the option of exploring Buenos Aires by regular bus or for the more adventurous, by bicycle (please advise your preference at the time of booking). You will visit many of the highlights that Buenos Aires has to offer including San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo, La Boca, the old docks etc.
Afternoon is at leisure before your evening Dinner & Tango show.

Day 4

Today you will be taken to the airport for your flight from Buenos Aires to Mendoza. (Included). Upon arrival you will be met & transferred to your hotel. Mendoza, is located in the foothills and high plains, ideal for producing fine grapes for wine making. Known as the heart of Argentina’s wine country, famed for Malbecs and other red wines

Day 5
Mendoza

Today you will enjoy a morning exploring Mendoza City & surrounds. Visit Independencia Square, which is the main focal área in downtown Mendoza. then on to the General San Martin Park, an important artificial park, close to the city. The tour ends with a visit to the Cerro de la Gloria’s Monument, which has an amazing panoramic view of the city.

Day 6
Mendoza

Today you will embark on a wine tasting tour. You will experience the origins of wine in Argentina, stopping in the historic, restored Bodega Trapiche, the Sinfin winery and the prestigious Zuccardi bodega. These wineries paved the way for viticulture in Argentina, and still today conserve their family traditions. Through them you will learn the history of winemaking in Mendoza.

MendozaSantiago

This morning we will transfer you to the bus station for your overland bus journey across the Andes and on to Santiago, Chile. This is a spectacular journey through the Andes taking around 6 hours. If you are lucky to have a clear day you may catch a glimpse of Aconcagua the highest peak in the Andes.(6962 m.a.s.l).
Santiago, Chile’s capital and largest city, lies in a valley surrounded by the snow-capped mountains of the Andes and the Chilean Coastal Range. Founded in 1541, Santiago has been Chile’s capital since colonial times.

Highlights include the Plaza de Armas & Cerro Santa Lucia, the hill on which Santiago was founded in 1541.
This afternoon we head to Maipo Valley, Chile’s oldest and most famous wine producing area. Just south of Santiago, this is predominately red-wine country, with cabernet sauvignon the most celebrated and widely planted variety. Our expert guide takes us to one of the most famous vineyards, Concha y Toro winery, producing excellent wines from the noblest French vines. Includes wine tasting. Lunch not included.
