Whether you’re planning your first trip to Bali or you’re returning to a favourite holiday spot, this much-loved destination has new experiences to offer every time. To get you started, our personal travel managers have put together a list of five experiences they think you might enjoy on your next visit.
1. Gigi’s Supreme Slice
Located in Seminyak, Gigi’s offers casual but eclectic Italian dining with a twist: their signature pizza plus old school pasta dishes, luscious salads, divine desserts and indulgent cocktails. They’ve even brought in current world champion pizza maker and renowned chef, John Lanzafame, to collaborate on the menu.
You can entertain yourself while you wait for your food to appear by playing the traditional Italian ball game of bocce, or you can pick up a pizza to take away and head down to the beach a couple of blocks away to enjoy your dinner as you watch the sun sink into the Indian Ocean.
2. Finns Recreation Club
Located just a few minutes from Seminyak, this is an awesome place to take the kids for a fun day out. Sprawling across four hectares, you can ride the water slides at Splash Water Park, escape the heat at Strike Ten Pin Bowling, then the kids can enjoy some downtime at Cubby House Kids Club while you treat yourself to a massage at Body Temple Spa. Finish the day with some signature smoked, slow-cooked brisket at Bistro C Smoke House.
3. Finn’s Beach Club
Set on 170 metres of prime Canggu beachfront, this trendy beach club is the sort of place that you’ll pop into for lunch and end up staying until well after the sun sets. Start with a swim in the 30-metre infinity-edge pool, which is complete with swim-up bar and underwater speakers, then flop onto a daybed on the stretch of white sandy beach. Find yourself a bean bag and enjoy a sundowner cocktail at one of the six bars while you keep one eye on the action at popular Berawa surf break and keep your body fuelled with fresh, delicious food from the restaurant located in an open-air bamboo pavilion.
There is a range of different passes available, depending on how you want to spend your time.
4. Bali Food Safari
This fantastic way to get a sample of some of Bali’s top restaurants is not a new highlight but it is still relatively unknown. Tours operate in Jimbaran Bay and Seminyak and operate as a mystery culinary tour that visits four of the top restaurants in either area. You will be picked up by your host and driven around to each restaurant; it’s a unique and fun way to see some places you wouldn’t normally get to. All the places are amazing and the food is of the highest quality. The tours run with a minimum of two people and groups are generally kept fairly small, plus you can choose to dine on your own or meet some new people by dining with others on your tour.
5. Blow Bar
A relatively recent introduction to Bali, but you may have come across the concept at home. Located in Seminyak, this is a great way to pamper yourself for a few hours, having your hair blow-dried whilst sipping a glass of bubbles or your favourite cocktail. You can also have your nails done, your eyelashes and brows tinted, and there’s even a barber for the men! It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours on pampering before a special night out or a wedding, or even to make freshen up before you board your flight home.
